Teb Marius is a senior consultant specialised in the (re)structuring of financial
institutions and other corporate entities in emerging
economies.
Born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands on August 14, 1949,
he spent his childhood near the sea in Scheveningen and The Hague. Here
he completed his elementary education and continued to study law at the
Dutch State Universities in Utrecht and Groningen. He obtained a
master's degree in Public Notary science and Insolvency
Practices.
After a three year period working in a legal practice, he
entered ABN AMRO Bank in The
Netherlands to pursue a career in banking. He held various positions
within the lending business, specialising in the (re)structuring of
loans to troubled corporate customers, both in the domestic and the
international network. An opportunity to combine (international) legal
practice and economic development.
Teb Marius joined the bank's
International Consultancy Department in 1995 and ever since was involved
in Institution Building and Technical Assistance Programmes worldwide,
predominantly in the Financial Sector. After retiring from the
bank in 2002, he is now working as an independent consultant in the
world's emerging markets, linking up with the Washington based
Devex organisation and focusing on financial and organisation
restructuring, business development, evaluation and monitoring of SME
development programmes. He is a leading professional in economic reform.
Next to his professional career, Teb
Marius, fancies classic car motoring; he is an aficionado of the Bristol
marque and a prominent member of the
Bristol Owners' Club; he is a golf addict and enjoys sailing the
